Grades K - 5th District 6 588 Students7373 Psalmond Road Midland, GA 31820
Midland Academy opened its doors to children in 2000. We continue to provide a strong curriculum with a focus on high expectations and accountability for student learning. Each student is challenged to meet or exceed the standards set for his/her grade level. Students are given opportunities to develop higher level thinking skills and to practice these in their everyday learning. Working together, the learning environment is supported by dedicated staff, parents and community leaders.
Opportunities for students include being a part of the Math Team, Science Olympics, Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl, Cub News Network Broadcast Team, Art Club, Green Team, Lego
We celebrate academic excellence each nine weeks with certificates for the Principal's All "A's" Honor Roll, A,B Honor roll and perfect attendance. At the end of each school year we hold End of Year Academic Achievement Awards Ceremonies where we also recognize students who participated in district events or school teams. We are fortunate that one of our Partners in
We expect our "Cubs" to be Respectful, Responsible and Ready (our 3 R's). Each month, teachers choose a "Cub of the Month" from their class who has modeled the 3 R's. Their parents are invited to a celebration with the principal and assistant principal. Certificates are given, students receive a goody bag provided by PTA, and photos are taken for display and for our school-wide tv broadcast.
Our school utilizes the district provided Achieve 3000 to help improve student Lexile levels. Students receive incentives for their performance, and when goals are reached, they get a "paw" with their name on it to place in their hallway.
We are doing great things to help our children be successful at Midland Academy. We welcome the opportunity to work with your family. Come join us!
