COLUMBUS, GA – In response to the City of Columbus’ recently announced start date for the Spider Web Phase II Project, the Muscogee County School District’s Transportation Department has been working in close coordination with city officials to develop a proactive plan aimed at minimizing disruptions and ensuring the continued safe and timely transport of students to and from school.

Columbus, Ga - The Muscogee County School District is implementing the standard security protocols for the Carver vs. Spencer High School basketball game tonight, February 26, 2025. In anticipation of increased attendance, we have enhanced safety measures by increasing the number of officers on-site.  All school-aged children MUST BE accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter the game.

The Muscogee County Board of Education intends to opt out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption for Muscogee County School District. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on this matter to be held at Public Education Center, 2960 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31906 on February 10, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. Times and places of additional public hearings on this matter are at Public Education Center 2960 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31906 on February 18, 2025 at 12:00 p.m., and February 18, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
