Board of Education
The Muscogee County Board of Education, comprised of nine elected members, functions as the governing entity for the Muscogee County School District. Its primary role involves legislating and shaping policies for the school system, while the implementation of these policies is overseen by the Superintendent of Education.
We invite you to participate in our Regular Board Meetings, which convene at 6:00 p.m. every third Monday of the month in the Board Room at the Public Education Center, located at 2960 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia, unless otherwise specified. Additionally, Board Work Sessions are held at 5:00 p.m. every second Monday of the month in the same location, unless communicated otherwise.
If attending in person is not possible, the Muscogee County School District recognizes the importance of providing access to our Board Meetings. We offer the option for the public to join in person or online. The live streaming of Board of Education Meetings, Work Sessions, and Hearings is facilitated through the Muscogee County School District’s Board of Education YouTube Channel. This initiative serves as a dynamic and innovative method to keep our community well-informed and engaged in the decision-making processes.
