Records Management - HB91

General Information

Georgia Governor, Nathan Deal, signed House Bill 91, effective March 30, 2015 stating that any student who should have graduated from 1981 to present but did not solely because they failed the Georgia High School Graduation Exam, may receive a diploma if they meet the requirements. Complete the HB91 Petition and submit to Records Management Services.

Please come to the Records Management Services Department (address below) and present a valid ID (current driver's license, passport, or Military ID). Be prepared to pay $10 for an unofficial copy of your transcript in order to verify your eligibility. In most cases, you will be notified within three business days of your eligibility. A fee of $25 is required to order your diploma. We will place the order for your diploma which will take approximately 8 weeks to receive. You may pay with cashier's check, money order, or exact change.

How long does it take to get my diploma?

After completion of the HB91 Petition, eligibility will be determined by verifying your transcript reflects all needed credits and requirements. You will be notified within 3 business days of your eligibility. Your diploma will be ordered and should arrive within 8-12 weeks..

Will my diploma be mailed to my address?

No. The diploma will be mailed to the Records Management Department. We will contact you when it arrives.

Can the date on the diploma reflect the date I should have graduated from high school?

No. The graduation date for HB91 diplomas, will always be March 30, 2015.
